How to Bind a Mac to Active Directory using Profile Manager and LANDESK

Below is a somewhat brief overview of how you can build a payload with the settings to bind a Mac to a domain.

In order to build this Directory payload, you’ll need to download and install macOS Server.  Your clients won’t need access to the macOS Server, so you can put this on a virtual machine that you start just when you need to build a new profile.

You’ll also need LANDESK Management Suite 9.6 or greater.

  1. I have done the steps above. I run the a provisioning template with this as an agent configuration step. When all is done the mac is reloaded and all task complete with no fails, but not joined to the domain. I have tested the profile manager file on a computer buy clicking on it and it installs just fine and joins the domain. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting?
    Thanks

    1. Chad, if you look at the landesk.log on the client device, searching for the name of your profile, you should find the error message related to the profile. That is where I would start.
